Anybody work with construction? It was evening, workers were away, I wanted to tour the 1st floor of a house..?

and the burgular alarm started beeping at like 10 second intervals. The doors were wide open to begin with and the lights were all on and I was curious to see the inside 1st floor. Why is the alarm chirping at an interval? and will it turn off? Im guessing it lets the construction workers know if someone stepped foot in the house.

  • Yes. I do.
  • You are trespassing which is illegal. Only if it’s YOUR house on your property can you go in.

  • It’s meant to keep you out, and with good reason.
In a normal building you can count of certain safety features,
like all the floors or stairs being capable of supporting you.
    On a construction site, … you can’t.

  • Since you were on the property without permission how would anyone know what your intent is?
There is liability if you are injured or something is missing/damaged. If there is an intrusion alarm, then there is sufficient value present to protect it. Copper wiring for instance.

If you were arrested for trespass, it does not matter what other people do. Would you risk arrest/prosecution merely to satisfy your curiosity?
