Bearded dragon burmation question? Thank you!!!?

I have been researching bearded dragons before I decide to care for one. I am confused about how to care for a bearded dragon in burmation. What do you do with their UVB lighting and heating when they are in burmation? Do you keep their UVB light on when they are sleeping or do you turn it off (I don’t want to waste electricity). What should their temperatures be during burmation? Should I buy feeder insects while their in burmation in case they want to eat or should I just not buy feeder insects while my dragon is in burmation? How do I keep my dragon healthy during burmation? Thank you so much!!!!

  • Not all beardies will brumate it just depends, my first beardie did but my second one doesn’t. If it does keep temps and lighting the same. This in not like hibernation and they will still occasionally eat or drink and even climb around. Don’t try to force them to brumate or keep them in brumation let them just do what comes natural to them. Don’t try to force it to eat. Offer it food how you normally would just make sure not to leave uneaten insects in the cage as they will bite your beardie and this can cause them to get very sick.

  • i assume it really is a probability, yet as long as your temps and light fixtures proceed to be a similar, the animal could no longer be going into brumation. My snakes require darkness and espresso temps to attempt this. some reptiles react seasonally, yet i do not remember listening to about beardies doing that. Brumation often calls for reducing temps. Are you feeding him something yet crickets? They do require vegetables to boot to proceed to be healthy. Is your UV lamp operating suited. they ought to get replaced on an ordinary foundation as a way to proceed to placed out suited levels. i could have him checked by utilising a qualified herp vet to be particular he isn’t any longer affected by metabolic disease.
