Blowing fuses on my amp?

I have a 12inch kenwood with a 2w mtx mono amp. Everything was bumping fine. It literally went from boom to nothing when i changed songs on my CD player. I’ve rewired my head unit. Then I unplugged my sub speaker wire, and the audio cables from my head unit to the amp. The only thing hooked up to my amp is ground and battery cable. I cut and rewired the ends hooked up to the amp and resanded the connections to the battery and the bolt the ground is on… the fuses were blown so i bought more and now when I touch a fuse to the amp it fries them before they even get half way into the socket.

  • first off, disconnect the battery before you replace fuses. number two your amp is getting too much power, so turn the levels on this tiny amp down all the way if possible, do all of this while your car is off. if you turn on the car and the fuses blow again that means you have a fault in the amp and you need to a. repair it, or b replace it because it sounds like you fried it.
