Can I buy a new part for my saw?

I have an old craftsman Scroll Saw, model # 103.23440. It is in great working shape, except I don’t have the table insert to keep the blade from bending. Does anyone know where I might be able to find one of these? I check Searspartsdirect.com and it says that the part is no longer available.

  • The company that made the saw,Emerson electric no longer makes parts for sears. Not sure how the insert fits into your saw but I know people that have made custom inserts for their table saws from plexiglass.

  • eBay, Amazon, Google. Very simple to search. There is no magic repository of parts for that thing. Check second hand shops constantly too. Good luck to ya.

  • Maybe you could make one out of 3/8” plywood.
