  • On first blush, I would check the lease to see if parking any boat, RV, commercial vehicle etc is specifically mentioned. If this is the first mention of this, and it’s not covered in the lease, I’d send her a message back, asking what language in the lease is being applied. No threats, just an inquiry. if necessary contact the Landlord in person. Landlords that avoid personal contact with a good tenant are a dime a dozen. I’d give notice that the landlord will be responsible for breaking the lease and all cost incurred in you finding a new place. (covered by conveyance of use rights to renter)
  • That’s a question you need to ask your attorney – if you want to make a battle over it. One thing for sure however, she can’t tow it if you move it to a storage facility or Marina – which is probably all she wants you to do anyway.
As you get older, you will learn to pick your battles. Landlords are not people you want to battle with – you will loose. One way or the other, that is a battle you can not win.

  • just from experience as a longtime renter and short-time landlord, MOST lease agreements i’ve signed have a clause in there specifically stating something about storage of a boat/rv (usually not allowed)

  • If your lease doesn’t allow you to store a boat on the property, yes, they can move it.
