CHEMISTRY HELP!!! help me please?

its a lab report…

using water displacement method is find the density of copper weights

initial water volume is 20.0

final water volume is 21.0

that means the volume being displaced is 1

so density is 9.83 divided by 1.

and the QUESTION IS.

comment on this method in determining the volume of the object.

how do i answer this?

  • Say something along the lines of:

“Since we know the initial volume of the water is 20, we know any excess volume added to the water much have occured when we added an object to the water, in this case being copper, which cased a displacement of ‘1’, allowing us to determine from a method of deduction, that only the copper could have caused a displacement of 1, meaning the copper must have the excess volume of 1!”
