I am preparing my university research project on Business & Financial Performance of organization
All the competitors of my focused organization have different year ends. What figures should I use for comparison? either calculate the figures for same point of time (which is very much time consuming) or just extract the figures from the annual reports regardless of the year end date.

Sorry, but you have to compare apples to apples. This is especially important due to changes in the business cycle over the time horizon(s), e.g. it is misleading to compare sales for one company during a recession to sales of a peer company during a recovery. Yeah, lots of work ahead, I feel your pain…
