Connecting a subwoofer to a stereo?

Hello. I’ve been having a little trouble with my new sub i bought today. I’m trying to hook it up to my little stereo I have, but when I get it all hooked up, and I press play, no noise comes from the sub. I believe it is because on the back of my stereo, there is only wire connections for regular speakers. Would you have to have red and black wire connections for bass/a sub? If you look at the pictures, thats what I am trying to hook up. Im new to the sub stuff but i think i have it hooked up right and everything. I just don’t know if i can plug my sub into a speaker wire port. Take a look and please give me any info/help you can. Thanks!

  • You probably need an amp to push the subs, try a normal speaker to make sure that channel is working on the radio also.
