I have a heavy cast iron grill (one of those Le Creuset things which you put over your electric cooker plate) which I subject to intense use.
I can never get it to its pristine state. I have tried with the usual dishwasher cycle but the result is only partial; I have also tried to keep the grill surface submerged in a mixture of hot water and dish washing soap for a couple of days but whilst the result is better, it is still not what I wished.
I do not have a fireplace/open flame so I cannot try with flame either.
Are there any more aggressive methods of degreasing the grill which I could use?
Thanks

Try a heavy duty degreaser you can get at Walmart or even go to an auto parts store. If you have to use brillo pad with it or with dawn dish soap..
Take a Brillo pad to it.=)
You really aren’t supposed to wash cast iron like that. I just wipe my with a paper towel. I have always been told that washing it will sort of ruin the surface. Check out

easy off oven cleaner. follow can directions. i prefer the original smelly one over the low odor one. i think it works better
