  • I’d suggest downloading & installing the Vista drivers, then running Windows Update after enabling it to get more than just the operating system updates.

For under $10, it might be worth ordering a disk of drivers for the D5 from eBay or Amazon (I’ve had better luck personally with an eBay seller for my D620 and D630) and running it on the laptop instead of trying to search them out one by one on the manufacturer’s websites.

It cost me $7, five days wait in the mail, and ten minutes to run the disk to get all the drivers that could be updated to update for Windows 7.

There are programs that you can download that will search out what drivers you need – but the freeware versions only tell you about them. You have to pay a fee (varies) to get the automatic updating….depends on how much you’re willing to pay versus how much time you’re willing to take searching them out one by one and downloading them to install later. (Save a backup copy of all the downloads – if you don’t, it is almost guaranteed that you’ll wish you had.)
