  • I am 21 and I have an adopted sister that is 4 and she gets away with murder. i have to be honest. When I was 18 mom and dad suddenly adopted a 2 month old and I was upset because they didnt ask how we felt. I was 18 my brother 17 and my youngest brother 15 and here mom and dad was getting a new baby. We knew the birth mother and she already had 3 kids and she was on drugs real bad. I started getting used to having a sister and now that my parent are older they are real soft on her and lets her get away with everything but I love her. She is my sister as my brothers are my brothers. I forget sometimes that she is adopted. I dont think of her that way. I look at her real mom and I see how happy my sister is and I think God that my parents had a big enough heart to give that little girl a chance at a normal life. So Id say No. I dont resent her. Why would I? Its not her fault that her parents didnt want her!

  • It depends on the age difference and whether or not the children are obviously treated differently.

It takes a lot of hard work to create a balanced environment for a mixed family.

Often either the adopted or the biological child will go ‘off the rails’ in their teenage years, but it’s hard to predict who and specifically why.
