mom's morning routine?

Hi Everyone,

I have been off for the last year with my three year old and almost one year old boys. I will be returning to work shortly and am a little worried about getting everything done in mornings etc.

I was wondering what you guys (moms or dads) have found works when planning a morning routine, can include what you do the night before to make everything easier for you as well.

Thanks so much,

Kim

  • Always have clothes picked out the night before, keep the clothes for your kids out of their room unless they always wake up at the same time. Make sure the coffee pot is ready to go so you don’t need to think about it. In the morning a timer will be your best friend, help your 3 year old know things are going to move by familiarizing him with the timer – he can see the time running down and be ready for the change of activity that way and not drag his heels when you need to move.

  • I am a mother of 4 boys-7,5,3,and 1.

    Here’s our routine.

5:15- I wake up, get in the shower, get ready and prepare breakfast.

6:30- I wake the boys up, Dakoda and Greyson get themselves ready, i get Everett and Wyatt ready.

    7:- Breakfast.

7:30- Homework checked, agendas signed, backpacks ready. Luches handed out, Shoes on, teeth brushed, out the door by 7:40.

8:- Drop Dakoda and Greyson off at school.

8:10- Go to work. (I work at Everett and Wyatt’s daycare)

3:- Go home and get lunch prepared and wait on Koda and Greyson to come home.

    3:30- Lunch time.

4:- Homework time for ALL of the boys.

    5:-6:-Outside play.

    6:- Dinner

7:- Bathtime. Lay clothes out for school. Get bookbags together.

    8:- Bedtime.

A strict schedual is the key. Do everything prior to when it needs to be done and allow time for EVERYTHING.
