Does white chocolate contain tree nuts?

  • As the person who has been a chef for 20 years said, white chocolate is cocoa butter, sugar and maybe some vanilla. Cacao is a bean, not a nut.

There are frequently cross contamination issues with chocolates, but it is possible to find chocolate for people without nut allergies…

Shouldn’t this be in the allergy section?

  • lt’s made from cocoa butter which comes from the cocoa nut, so technically yes.

  • Yes, there’s’ some like that. I’ve’ seen white chocolate with tree nuts in the nutritional information. So it does exist.

  • Tree nuts are brazil nuts, cashew, walnuts, almonds, pistachios, hazelnuts and pinenuts, the cocoa pod is a carrier for the cocoa beans, they are fermented and then the shell removed, to extract the cocoa nibs, there not related to nuts, neither is a coconut. White chocolate is nothing but sugar, milk products, vanilla and cocoa butter, made when pressing the liquid to get cocoa powder, if there are nuts in any white chocolate product they were added and would appear on the products ingredient label, I was a chef for over 20+ and get pissed off when amateurs give false and inaccurate answers, there I said it.
