Getting rid of skunk odor?

i need help a skunk decided to spray under my back porch and i can’t get the smell out, i’ve tried the odoban and vinegar and nothing is working , it’s so annoying.[ i can’t afford a professional]please help i’m desperate

  • Spray the area to the point of soaking with bleach. It will react chemically with the skunk spray which is a sulfur compound. I’ve washed my dog a few times with bleach water as he was not smart enough to leave the resident skunk alone. Bleach will kill shrubs and rust metal so be careful.

  • The traditional skunk odor remover is tomato juice. I sprayed about a gallon of that under my work van then hosed it off after running over a skunk here in East Texas. Tomatoes contain citric acid so that must be the active agent which negates that foul aroma. I believe Kosher salt (sour salt) is the food grade form of citric acid. It’s available at Wal-Mart and other grocery stores so you could get a few containers of it and mix those in 5 gallons of water, then spray that on with a pump-up garden sprayer. I wouldn’t bother rinsing it off since the dried acid and salt crystals will deter microbial growths on the lumber.
