Please help i hid a file in my documents by going to properties and clicking hidden but now i cant find it where will it be ? please help its my course work i was trying to hid it from my room mate so she doesnt copy of me.

If you know the program it was made with, you can open the program by itself and it usually has the last 4 documents worked on listed at the bottom of the open command (click on file, then on open). Just click on the file and it will still open it (unless you moved the file as well). If this doesn’t work but you know the name of the file, open “My Computer”, double click the drive it was stored on (usually c:), then click on “Search”. Click on the Advanced Options and ensure you have Search hidden files and systems folders checked. Then it should show where it’s at and you can double click it to open it. If you have vista, click on the search box and type the name, then start the search. There will be a search tools button and click it, then click on search options and check the same items and repeat your search.

Open a folder..
In the menus got to –
TOOLS then FOLDER OPTIONS
then click the VIEW tab
now about 9 lines down put a tick in the
SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS option.
Then click APPLY, then OK
Voila! Hidden files n folders revealed!
go to start-search files, or something like that, it varies with computers. and type in the name of the file you are looking for
is it in a zipped/locked folder? have you also used the search function?
