i have a linksys befsr41 V.1 router wired and i changed the routers ip address before and now i forgett it and i was told to hold reset for like 3 minutes to reset it all and i did and then typed the default ip in the web browser and it dont pop up for me to login or anything. it worked great when i had comcast now got att and cant get it to connect… please help. thanks

The manual will show you how to reset and reconfigure your router. If you don’t have a manual, you can get one here (you’ll have to enter an email address, so use a throw-away address like mailinator):

I more or less agree with all of the others. However, I wonder why the old power adapter failed. If there was a problem with the router and it was attempting to draw more power than the old adapter could supply and the adapter failed for that reason, you could have issues. Using a power supply that can provide twice the power could cause your router to overheat and cause damage. If you know for sure why the power supply failed, then you should be okay. If you get the new power supply and it fails, then I would recommend that you replace your router to be safe.
