  • The first one is 16x + 24
    You do 8 times 2x the 8 times positive 3 .
Not sure what the Second one is sorry 🙂
  • 1st one. You multiply everything inside the bracket by what’s outside, this gives you;- 16x + 24.
2nd one. You multiply everything in each bracket by everything in the other bracket but when you multiply pluses by minuses you always end up with minuses.
    = x^2 – 6x + 7x – 42

    = x^2 + x – 42

  • 16x + 24 is the first one
for the second, (the extra one with the two sets of brackets) you go
    x² +7x +6x + 42
so basically you times each individual bit by every other individual bit if that makes sense
and to simplify, it would be
    x² +13x + 42

  • 1) 16x + 24
    2) 2(c – 2a)(c – 2a) – 4b
    = 2(c^2 – 4ac + 4a^2) – 4b
    = 2c^2 – 8ac + 8 a^2 – 4b
    2*) FOIL it:
    X^2 – 6x + 7x – 42
    = x^2 + x – 42

  • 16x + 24
    2c – 4a^2 – 4b

  • First question the answer is: 16x+24
