Depends on amount of alcohol consumed, time it took to be consumed, which gender, size of person.
A small woman that drank 10 shots in 10 minutes on an empty stomach would be drunk longer than a large man that drank 5 beers in 3 hours, along with a big meal.
Simple formula is that your body metabolizes about 1 drink per hour. If you are 6 ft and weigh around 180 I think your legally drunk at around 3-4 drinks. In this case wait at least 2 hours with no alcohol before driving. Figure out your weight, look up what will constitute you being legally drunk, than be safe and half it.
Alcohol stays in your body for 24 hours, the hangover results from dehydration. The effect of being “drunk” persists for 2-3 hours, depending on how much you drank and how much you ate. Don’t know which level of drunk you are referring to.
