How to Clean home PVC Pipe from Mud/dirt?

My home tank draws water from a nearby well. Rcently the water coming out from taps is all red in color (even though the tank and well is having clean water) I suspect the pvc pipe inside has collected mud/dirt over period of time.

How can i clean the whole pvc pipe network at home??? is there a solution which i can pour from the top?

  • Step 1

Cut lengths of PVC pipe that you will use for project with the pipe cutter or saw.

    Step 2

Sprinkle powdered cleaner on PVC pipe and wet pipe with water. Use the scrub pad in small circular motions on the wet powdered cleaner on the pipe to remove markings and dirt. Rinse PVC pipe with water when markings or dirt have been removed.

    Step 3

If markings or dirt have not been removed, soak steel wool pad in acetone. Gently rub off markings or dirt with the steel wool. Work in small sections, no more than 2 feet of pipe at a time, while working with the acetone.

    Step 4

Use the lint-free white cloth to wipe the acetone off of the pipe.

    Step 5

Rinse the PVC pipe with water and allow to completely dry before any installation.
