I found a baby robin?

I recently found a young robin in my garage, with feathers grown in, I located the nest and put it back in, however it jumped out straight away. It can not fly yet, yet it is able to hop around rather quickly, and the parents are around it, and feeding it I believe. Will it be okay without being in a nest? Should I supply anything, or while nature take care of it?

Thank you so much! I am completely clueless!

  • since the baby has feathers and is jumping out of the nest on its own then its normal. that’s how babies learn how to fly.Try to avoid touching wild baby birds because if the parents smell human scent on them they will kill the baby.

  • Probably best to leave it as long as the parents are still feeding it, keep checking it and dont worry about the parents ‘hating it because you touched it’. The myth about birds smelling your scent is just ‘a myth’. They actually have a poor sense of smell. Perhaps you could throw a few seeds around in the garden for the parents to locate and take to the young, not sure if that would work but I’m sure it would? Make sure they aren’t too big though as the young could choke. Good luck!

  • They don’t kill their young if they smell a different scent on them. They don’t realize that it’s their young because they can’t smell it’s original scent and they leave it behind. Hopefully the parents can still identify that it’s their young and will continue to nurture it. I just wouldn’t touch it again, and for future reference, don’t touch another one if you see it.

  • Well first of all, DON’T FREAKIN TOUCH IT.o_o Second, I’m pretty sure it’ll be okay on its own. Just let it be.
