  • I have a grandchild that they had told us was going to be a boy but to every bodies surprise out came a girl. My daughter had the name Tyler pic out for a boy, she change it to Tayler. (Tay Tay) is the nick name she uses. My mom couldn’t believe my daughter spelled it Tayler instead of Taylor. My mom thought that was the boys way to spell it. I had to laugh so hard because I was named after my father and his name was Rex. I am always told ,THAT is not your name and ask what my real name is. I just tell them I’m a girl Rex. It has made me into a very strong person having Rex as my name. My father has passed away, so I am even prouder that I am his name sake. When people make fun of my name now, I tell them I am proud to be named after my dead father. That shuts them up real quick. Learn to have fun with your name, After all those are the two names that will always be yours. Last names can change.

Source(s): Way to many stories that I could tell about being a female named Rex. 52 years worth…lol

  • Personally I Love the name Taylor. I understand your embarrassment but you shouldn’t let that be your reason for changing your name. I probably would have done the same thing to the cooking teacher so they could feel the same embarrassment. My middle name is Hope and I always hated it when I was growing up because my brother and all his friends would tease me about it. They would make up songs and sing them in the lunch room just to make me cry. But as I got older I learned to like it. I had the opportunity to change it 10 years ago, but didn’t. My parents gave me that name out of love, so I decided to keep it. I hope you keep the name, you are a pretty girl and that name is just as pretty on you.

  • Changing your name is something that you may regret in the future-and you don’t want to regret something like that. Just tell people you go by Tay. Or your middle name Danielle. But don’t change your name. Think about how weird it would be for people to start calling you something totally different- I bet you would still look whenever someone says Taylor!

  • I think you have a very beautiful name, don’t change it for anything as far as when someone screws up and calls you “mr.huston” have fun with it by embarrassing them when they find out that you not only are you not a man but a beautiful young lady with a beautiful name! Good luck

  • I see nothing wrong with your name. I like it in fact.

I know a guy named “Marvie” and a girl named “John Jeremiah” and a LOT of guys named “Jennifer”. Now those are worse cases. In fact there was a popular case where a guy named Jennifer couldn’t even get a job ‘cuz people wouldn’t believe him.

Personally, I don’t think you should change your name.

  • Make a nick name that’s feminine and stick with it.Or go by Danielle since that’s a female’s name. Other than that, you’d have to change it.

  • you could just forget that thing w/ the teacher ever happened. at least your name isn’t craig or something like that. Taylor may be a girl/boy’s name but it isn’t bad at all. but if you don’t like it that much, you can find a nickname to go by or just go by your middle name

  • I love your name but if that’s the case then invent a nick name and spread it to everyone. Thats how I did it. Whenever I introduce myself I always say my nick name and what I’d like to be called.

  • Ask people to call you by your middle name. People do that everywhere. I suppose Danielle is more feminine.

About your cooking teacher, talk to him!

Beyond that, just learn to accept it.

  • if you are still a minor it only costs like 2 dollars, but you need parental consent, Besides I like Taylor. You could also call yourself Danya from Daneille.
