I wanna be a good martial artist, what can help me?

I’ve been training in Arnis and I’m on my third year. I need help on knowing what can help me be a better martial artist. Should I train in other martial arts? What exercises can make me stronger and faster? Any other tips and tricks? And can someone please help me with my push ups problem…no matter how hard I try I can’t do more than 8 without failing…

  • Ive been in taekwondo for 4 years and im a 2nd degree black belt. But I was at a tournament and I was sparring a girl my size and she beat me bad and then I was sparring a tall black guy at a testing and he beat me by one point (im 13) so later I found out he was in 5th or 6th grade jst really tall. So u can guess I was embarresed and theres a girl in my tkd school that im best friends with but shes the best at the school cause her dad is the master there and I want to win against her and my flexibilty is good but my kicks and jumps arent the best so I decided to fgo do different martail arts which is kungfu and chun kuk do and trust ive been getting better so my best guess ia to still do the school your doing now but try something else with it and I can garrrantee you will get better and about the push ups everyday morning and night do a triangle of pushups like start from ten pushups then 9 pushups then 8 pushups then keep going down then when it starts getting easier later on do tue same thing but when you get down to one pushup go up to 2 pushups then 3 pushups and so on and you will get stronger also try sword fighting its really helping me with the muscles in my legs and flexability in my arms Hope this helps!!

  • I can help a bit with the push-ups:)….Try to take a few deep breaths just before doing them, then breath out when you come down, and breath in when you come up.. This can help you with your oxygen….If you do them systematically and also give your body the time to recover, you will be able to do lots of them.:)

  • lifting weights, running, eating healthy will all help a lot. cross train if you feel comfortable in arnis and have the time.

  • Practice and Patience.
