Ideas for a kid to make some money?

Please! My parents aren’t doing good with their jobs and I want to help them by making some extra bucks… Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to help? I’m 13 about to be 14 and I’m in 8th grade.

Thanks 🙂

  • You can babysit, be a tutor, I don’t know if newspaper delivery is still common for teens or not. You can also walk around your block and see if any of your neighbors would pay you for yardwork (trimming trees and bushes, mowing the lawn).

It’s a really nice gesture to offer to work to help out your parents, but you should talk to them about it first. They probably won’t mind you working if you can find a job, but they may not just accept the money from you. If they don’t want to accept it, just think of it this way: you using the money you earn on extra things for yourself is helping them save more of the money that they make!

  • Try journals –

There’s a company called DoodlyCouch that offers workbooks and journals for all sorts of people – they have ones specifically for kids and teenagers, as well. These are drawing journals – so you draw out the answer to “How do you feel today?” instead of writing it. They sell the books on Amazon and on their website (www.DoodlyCouch.com), but they also have a fundraising program and they let you make money by selling their books, with no money up front and no minimum order. This is something you can even do just as an individual person – you don’t have to be part of an organized group. The company will provide you with a sample book to take around doing your sales, and will give you order forms and everything else you need. It works like a school fundraiser, except it would just be you doing your own.

  • To make money online, invest in yourself with Dan. After 7 years of failing, or near-failing at making money online, I found Dan. (I consider checks under $1 for two weeks to be near-failing for the amount of time and effort I was putting in.) Or rather, Dan found me. I don’t remember whose mailing list he showed up in my inbox on, but I’m truly grateful he did. The methods I learned from him have allowed me to finally break out of my affiliate rut. I am actually happy about the size of my checks now. After only a month, I’ve already made more than I did in the entire previous 7 years. I am totally happy, and I think everyone who actually follows the training will be too!

  • Here are a few suggestions:

    1) baby-sit

    2) Referee a game For me, i get 40 bucks when i ump a game

    3) you can work as a CIT (counselor in training) and when you become a counselor you will get paid

    4) it’s really nice of you to be doing this for your family, but keep in mind that you will not live with your family forever, it is also best to focus on your school so that you will have a successful job once you are older

    Good luck!

  • I am currently writing an ebook on this topic. I am also in 8th grade and I have found a great way to make money! If you might be interested in hearing about this, please send me a message. I make a couple hundred a month or so and I would love to help you make that as well. I am just about to start writing so it might be a bit since the ebook is done. Good luck!

  • Mow yards, give advice, clean houses.

I would recommend learning something that can make you a fortune..IT stuff. Learn xhtml/css at first and you can make 8 dollars for a website that would take 2 weeks to build. From there learn programming..javascript/php. If your 13..by the time your 16 you can make a fortune. It’ll take you about a year to get pretty good with what I mentioned..after that start racking up experience one year at a time.

  • Go around the neighborhood and offer your services with yard work, things like mowing lawns. Most people will be willing to pay around 20 bucks for mowing their lawns, and that money adds up pretty quickly.

  • Lemonade stands don’t work very well in the UK. Because it’s always raining. What we do over here is ask for jobs as a wash up in a hotel or a cafe. Usually works, and they always need people.

  • At your age you can help your parents emotionally by behaving good and helping them around the house. You don’t have the age to get a job. Focus on finishing school with good grades.
