If an ML SOLAR LLC does not recieve sunlight, will it cut off electricity to the rest of the circuit?

I have some solar cells that will be soldered together and I was trying to find out if on of the solar cells in a circuit is not receiving sunlight, will it act as a short and keep electricity from running through the rest of the solar cells?

  • Generally speaking, solar cells made into an array or panel are mounted closely enough together that they all receive the same amount of light, roughly. The solar cell in question wouldn’t necessarily act as a short, but rather an open due to small amounts of capacitance that are unavoidable. If the datasheet is available it may have a solution in the application notes.

Without knowing if they are to be in series or parallel and what the load is, it is difficult to give more specific advice here. Check for application notes and good luck!
