  • That is happening in fact right now in Australia. there are two species, the dingos and the feral cats, those are groups of felinus domesticus and cannis familiaris in the wildness surviving in groups. The Dingoes even stalk livestock.

I think that they would change some like their primitive shapes, this is the bob cat, and the wolf, depending mainly on the environment.

But if they have all the resources that they need, i think that in fact they will change very few since they will not need it.

  • Not much different. Felines have been around several million years already. You might be interested to look what the extinct family of Nimravidae looked like. They were a completely different family to cats but they looked pretty similar. Evolution says, if it ain’t broke – don’t fix it.

Of course, all the show breeds of cats and dogs like those poor dogs with all the wrinkles on their faces – they’ll die out in a shot. The mongrels will do just fine. In fact, in Scotland it seems that domestic cats interbreed with wildcats which is making it hard to define exactly what a wildcat is!

  • Dingos were once domesticated dogs – they got loose and became feral. They are now considered wild. This would be a good example of what would happen to dogs in the wild, but a lot can happen in a million years. Not all species survive that long. How they adapted would depend on what conditions they were living in (hot, cold, a lot of food, very little food, etc.).
