  • Yes it’s still popular (not with mainstream media though). It’s still raking in over a million ppv buys for big fights but corrupt promoters & multiple world titles for each weight division is ultimately hurting the sport.

  • I disagree with saying Boxing is dying. Its not as popular as it used to be but its still quite popular. More people on average at school/work would be able to name you a boxer than an mma fighter. People many people are usually willing to see guys like Maweather, Cotto, Pacquaio and Sergio Martinez. Only the heavy weight division is dying, but the lower weight classes such as flyweight to welterweight has great young talent in Donaire, Gamboa, Khan, Ortiz, Berto, etc, etc Boxing has a great future

  • Pay per view has diminished boxings popularity along with extremely controversial decisions. People followed U.S. boxers as amateurs on team USA boxing team then follow the olympic champions turn pro and follow their careers. They no longer show amateur boxing on tv thus you don’t care about people you know nothing about.

  • yeah ofc it is but MMA is taking over the martial arts/fight scene as its a combination of all fighting styles
