  • Yes, Diskeeper is the best defragging program, and is far better than the Windows in-built defragger. See the comparison chart here

Diskeeper is the best selling and most widely used defragmenter in the enterprise sector (something like a +% market share IIRC) , and it’s the same technology that they use in the home versions of the defragger.

Diskeeper and Microsoft jointly developed the defrag API for NTFS, so they know what they’re doing. Infact, all other defraggers that run in windows use this same defrag API co-developed by Diskeeper, but ofcourse, not all these defraggers have the same features.

  • No. PerfectDisk is widely regarded as the best for consumers as well as by IT pros and business. Multiple user forums refer to it as superior to Diskeeper. It provides more options, does a more thorough job, user fewer resources and consolidates free space better. Their service is also top notch. A free trial is available at www.perfectdisk.com, and there’s a simple home version too.

  • Yes, it has useful advanced features that make defrag automatic and efficient. Try the day version yourself.

  • No.

If the Windows built-in Defrag tool doesn’t solve your problems, then, it’s very likely that your PC has been overrun with Malware.

Please re-post and and describe what is wrong, and why you think Defrag will make any difference, and it usually doesn’t if your drive is formatted to NTFS. Windows version, too. Then, maybe we can help.

  • The best is to use default windows defragmentation utility if you dont want problems in future.
