Is there a false positive on a pregnancy test?

I took a pregnancy test Saturday night, the 12th.. My period was supposed to be on the 9th or 10th.. It had the pregnancy line and the control line.. Well the control line was really blue and the pregnancy line was really faint you could barely see it.. Sunday morning I took another, thinking that I am pregnant.. It said negative, my period started Sunday evening very light brown spotting and became a pink color by Monday morning keep in mind this is still spotting and I normaly have a 7 day period with crazy cramps and heavy bleeding, then all of a sudden it stopped Monday, it’s been 2 days since it stopped, and it has not returned.. Am I pregnant? I don’t have any insurance to get a blood test done to be sure.. =[ I also have been having these tiny cramps in the lower part of my belly, they have not stopped they started Sunday night and it’s Wedndesday..

  • It’s VERY rare to have a false positive, and usually happens if you’ve recently had a miscarriage, or are on certain fertility medicines.

Even a faint line is still a positive.. just means that maybe you’re not very far along, so you don’t have as much hcg in your system.

    Congratulations… You’re pregnant!!

  • normally even if it is a faint line it is still positive. Um take one ore two more test to take sure… sometimes is is noraml to spot.. it is called implantation bleeding but that nnormally happends before you find out… take another test!
