is there a solar power system for renters to purchase?

I am in a rental house and was wondering if there is a solar power system that I could buy?

It wouldn’t need to be a permanent installation as I know that is costly and I would like to take it with me when/if I move.

I know that I would have to get it installed professionally but that I am willing to pay for (on top of the system that is).

  • Check the property laws in your area, in most, whatever is “screwed” into the building becomes the property of the landowner. Many leases are specific about only allowing you to use screws, even with pictures, this is because that little bit of fine print puts the landowner always in the right.

  • I upgraded my house with a bunch of solar panels a while ago and have been saving a lot. Most of the equipment was bought off the internet. I have a 5kW solar grid tie system with Vmax tanks, Solar edition. It runs great, definately recommend you get one, and also it doesn’t necessarily have to be screwed to the roof. There are many different options of solar panel setups you can get.

  • You would end up needing to buy a new roof cover for your landlord. Roof mounted panels have to be bolted the framing. That means putting holes in the roof shingles.
