Is this a bed bug or something else?

I apologize for the poor quality of the photos. I tried as hard as I could with my iPhone. I found this little sucker stuck to my pillow case /after/ I washed it. A few weeks ago, I also found some crunchy stuff (might of been bug body parts?) in my sheets. I washed all my bedding since I hadn’t been home in a few months (and because of the crunchy stuff). I checked for more, but couldn’t find any. I looked for typical bed bug signs, but couldn’t find any of those either. This bug was dead (thank God) when I found it. It looks to thin to be a bed bug or a cockroach from the photos I’ve compared it to online. I thought flour beetle, but its body only has two parts to it and a flour beetle has three.

I’m hoping its nothing serious. Please help!

Update:

I live in a rural part of Connecticut (my house is surrounded by forest) if that helps.

✅ Answers

  • Not a bed bug.

It looks like a click beetle of some kind.

    (try Elateridae or Eucnemidae)

  • All insects have body parts : head, thorax, and abdomen. So despite appearances in your photos, this insect will have body parts, and could be the flour beetle.

It would help if you included some idea of size and (your) location.
