  • First off–the sentence is bad–whether for a formal cover letter or an informal letter.

Have you met the person for whom you have a ‘huge affection’?

Unless you are close to the person–and even then–a formal cover letter should remain formal–warm, but formal. The recipient of the cover letter may show it to co-workers, or their boss, so even if you are close to them you better be businesslike.

    Try this:

If you have met the person:

“It was a pleasure meeting you, and I would be very happy and motivated to work in such creative and stimulating environment.”

If you have not met the person:

“I consider this position to be a wonderful opportunity, and I would be very happy and motivated to work in such creative and stimulating environment.”

PS: Don’t say things like ‘you won’t be disappointed’ in a cover letter. By saying you would be ‘motivated’ you are implying that you will be hard working and engaged in your job.

PPS. Don’t mention ‘if you should offer me this job’ etc. Assume you are going to get the job, and tell the recipient how pleased you will be to work for them and how interesting the job opportunity is for you.

There are many ways to say essentially the same thing….

  • There’s certainly some small grammatical mistakes, but it’s rather easy to touch-up.

Had I been offered this wonderful opportunity to work in this creative environment, for which I have a great affection, you would not have been disappointed.

    Or

If I am offered this wonderful opportunity to work in this creative environment, for which I have a great affection, you will not be disappointed.
