Jehovahs witnesses why do you sugar coat things?

People have had experiences where family members have become jehovahs witnesses and as a consequence their relationship suffers, because they are non believers.

Why deny this happens?

Straight from the horses mouth.

Don’t associate with outsiders (non-Jehovah’s Witnesses). You are too busy for that! Watchtower, 2/1/74, p.93.

Association with non-Jehovah’s Witness kids should be limited to trying to convert them. Your Youth-Getting the Best Out of It. 1976, p. 65.

Remember, you are to have “no association” with non-Jehovah’s Witness friends or relatives. If they are honest and moral, that still does not make any difference. Watchtower, 2/15/60, pp. 112-113.

And for the adults 😉

This years watchtower feb 2013

Our choice of associates. Of course, some contact with unbelievers—such as at school, at work, and when sharing in the ministry—is unavoidable. It is quite another matter, though, to socialize with them, even cultivating close friendships with them. Do we justify such association by saying that they have many good qualities? “Do not be misled,” warns the Bible. “Bad associations spoil useful habits.” (1 Cor. 15:33) Just as a small amount of pollution can contaminate clean water, friendship with those who do not practice godly devotion can contaminate our spirituality and lead us into adopting worldly viewpoints, dress, speech, and conduct.

Update:

Since my awakening of this cult , I have opened my arms to people of all faiths and have realized what the watchtower painted of worldly people was pure propaganda to instill fear.

@ Kiana the watchtower says “do we justify to ourselves by saying they have good qualities”

You see you can have a non Jw who has beautiful morals but you still have to limit your association because they don’t love Jehovah.

Update 2:

Ps I’m agnostic. The way Jehovah’s witnesses paint God is not my kind if a loving being.

I am a believer of treating others how you you want to be treated.

Being a jw you treat non Jws as second class really and that doesn’t fit with my morals.

Update 3:

@shelby did you not read what the watchtower says?

Remember, you are to have “no association” with non-Jehovah’s Witness friends or relatives. If they are honest and moral, that still does not make any difference. Watchtower, 2/15/60, pp. 112-113.

Update 4:

@call me Gary . What the blink are you on about.

All of these quotes are from the Watchtower and Tract society.

Where is the deceit ?

These are your resources from

Watchtower online dude.

Or are there apostates running that site?

I give you proof from your very own publications and you still deny it?

Your like brainwashed sheep,

Reminds me of the nazi era and people denying the holocaust when the evidence is overwhelming.

Update 5:

@Cary you do know that Rutherford wrote a letter to Hitler I won’t tell you what was on that letter but it is available online 😉 as for Jws nearly being wiped out in Europe you might want to rethink that statement or research it outside watchtower books.

8 witnesses were killed during world war 2

over 6 million Jews were killed.

15,0 homosexuals were killed

Thousands of priests and pastors were killed.

Gypsies were killed,

People with disabilities were killed.

Update 6:

@call me Gary that old watchtower of 74 was a quick hurry end of world is happening soon, get on the move don’t waste your time with outsiders.

Dude don’t be do presumptious that you know more than me

I lived and breathed this lie for over 30 years, the amount of changes, false beliefs, straight out lies from this cult is numerous.

It’s a lie I guarantee you that there will be no Armageddon I will grow old and so will you, you will die still believing the lie. I will die not knowing what will happen and am happy with that, I have nothing to loose.

Things I remember in my hey day as a young witness ill never forget the talks about don’t have children, don’t go to college, the end is near! Yeah that was 20 years ago. Lies lies lies.

1914 that generation WILL NOT pass away, we’ll they are all friggen dead. Now you have the new light of overlapping generation which is illogical.

Listen to the talk on the net

Stay alive till 75

Your watchtower, yes I say watchtow

  • That was one of the most profound experiences after giving these “wordly” people a chance. For the most part, they are much better people than Witnesses were.

Witnesses always had an ulterior motive for doing things. So much gossip and backstabbing. Friendly to someone’s face, but then as soon as they turn away, laughed at them. There was a definite social structure to each congregation and cliques galore.

I remember I was moving and asked people in the congregation to help. The last day of the month was a Saturday and every one of them had to go in service. I asked if they would be able to help if I was able to move on Friday night and excuses abounded.

As my wife and I were packing up the truck alone, a neighbor that we hadn’t talked to much noticed and he and his buddies came over and helped us load up the truck, a couple of them joining us to help unload.

Since then an elderly couple in our neighborhood adopted our children for the holidays. Their children are grown and not close and were horrified that our kid’s grandparents live a few minutes away but would have nothing to do with us, so they get small gifts for their birthdays and Christmas.

I’m sure my mom would say “Oh that’s just Satan, trying to make you comfortable with a worldly lifestyle”

I’ve come to understand that no, as a general rule, people are good, not the wicked evildoers that the Watchtower makes them out to be. They do good works because they want to, not because they feel it would give a good witness.

  • What sugar coating do you mean? I’ve never done this and (1 Corinthians 5:9-13) In my letter I wrote YOU to quit mixing in company with fornicators, 10 not [meaning] entirely with the fornicators of this world or the greedy persons and extortioners or idolaters. Otherwise, YOU would actually have to get out of the world. 11 But now I am writing YOU to quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother that is a fornicator or a greedy person or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man. 12 For what do I have to do with judging those outside? Do YOU not judge those inside, 13 while God judges those outside? “Remove the wicked [man] from among yourselves.”

Are you saying we are to go against God then? If I have a brother that is a drugy and I continue to spend time with him, will I not get spiritually sick? If my sister is a real party goer and I join her, will I not start that same behavior? Yes, I will.

You have all the right in the world to leave the Kingdom Hall, you also leave Jehovah, our God. You also know the Scripture that talks about the cooling off of the greater number. You know how we see it yet you still don’t understand. You made your bed, you lay in it but you also know you can always come back, hoping it is not too late. Go away Satan.

Edited: funny that you say “Being a jw you treat non Jws as second class really and that doesn’t fit with my morals.” I find that very odd as we are the ones that go preaching the Good News of God’s Kingdom to those that, as you say, “treat non Jws as second class”. You can’t have it both ways in your thinking, it cancels itself out.

  • Jehovah’s Witnesses live their lives in line with the scriptures. If that makes people angry that is not their (Witnesses) fault. Watchtowers are only teaching aids. Religion is a persons rightful choice. There is no deceit on our part. How do we treat non-JW’s as second class people? We do not come on this site to spread lies about people. Jehovah’s Witnesses were put in work camps during WW2 also. The main difference was, the JWs were nearly whiped out in Europe. Hitler was no friend to the JWs.

  • What about Greber? Now do not lie. What exactly do you suppose Greber was once to us? To me, it seems as in the event you did not fully examine things before you grew to be one in all Jehovah’s witnesses.

  • I do not think we sugar coat anything. Relationships are strained, not because of us, but because non-jw family members do not want to associate with us unless it is a major holiday like xmas or birthdays. Since we stand for Christian principles we choose not to celebrate these non-christian celebrations. Non-christians are why some Christians have a difficult time keeping relationships with our non-Christian family and friends. We reach out and get slapped in the cheek. Your question is proof of this.

So with you being a former Christian, you would know this. Why are you being decietful with your propagandic information.

    edit

Your question is the exact reason why we should not believe what you folks. You quote a old magazine from 1974. Did you know that the article you referred to talks about the increasing earthquakes? Of course you did not. You BLINDLY accepted what the anti-JW websites say without doing your own research!

Talk about being brainwashed… you are a case study.

I know more about the history of Jehovah’s Witnesses than you. I have been talking with people like you for almost 25 years. You are my specialty. I have brought countless people back into Christianity with reasoning. There are some that will not believe what I, or the brothers and sisters who specialize in people like you, have to say. I am not “the Watchtower”. I am a rank and file Christian Witness of Jehovah. If you want a balanced view of who we are, go to this link

    http://defendingjehovahswitnesses.blogspot.com/

There are thousands of us that know the truth and were not lead astray with the propaganda from the anti-JW and apostates. We did our research.

Maybe you should do yours properly.

  • I am sorry Green eyes but I have to call you on this Question. Could you SWALLOW that load of BS with out a heaping dose of Sugar coating it to make it go down?

    sheesh

Lets see My Jehovah’s Witness family includes:

    1 Mother who is Alcoholic

1 father who is an Elder and an Alcoholic and a Pedophile

    1 Sister who is Alcoholic

1 Sister who’s son Just killed himself because of feeling outcast

1 Brother who hasn’t spoken 1 word to me in over 30 years

Where is the Bad association? I think it is with the Witnesses

I have no use for the above people. I consider them poisonous and bad association

  • JWs can be nice to non-witnesses especially when they can count “time”

in their recruitment work and report it on their monthly report to their

    headquarters .

Since I’ve become inactive my non-JW relatives have been wonderfully

loving and supportive . The JW ones shun me for just asking the wrong questions

and insisting on honest non-cult answers .

I now realize I’ve been lied to my whole life .

Source(s): Read the book ” Crisis of Conscience” by JW Governing body member Ray Franz

DR Jerry Bergman PHD his book “Jehovahs Witnesses and the problem of mental illness”

Steve Hassan cult expert and author

  • I don’t think JW’s are trying to sugar coat anything. JW’s do not tell you not to associate with you unbelieving family members. only disfellowshipped one’s. quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother. who is doing these things.

While it is true that not everyone including non believers have immoral conduct. It is also true that people including you like to associate with people more like themselves.

  • Jesus never sugar coated or watered things down..Why should we..Is that treating non Jws as second class? No not at all because they are not..The truth hurts a lot doesn’t it and people don’t like the truth.

  • CULT…!!!!
