  • Look on your pay stub and see what period this covers. It is very normal for paychecks to be for the previous week. For the purpose of paychecks, companies have different cut off days. In some cases the week runs Sunday thru Saturday and payday is Friday. In others, the week could run Wednesday thru Tuesday and the payday is Friday.

Your employer has to have time to process payroll and prepare checks. It would be extremely unlikely that your check would include hours right up to the day before payday.
