Luxury stores. Can I leave my curriculum directly or is it better to go through recruitment agencies etc?

Hi, I am an Italian moving to London and I am looking for a job in luxury retail (I have worked previously at Prada and Moschino). It might sound as a silly question but, in the UK is it appropriate to take my curriculum directly into the Boutique? Or should I just leave it at the recruitment agencies and specialized websites?

  • It might be a good idea if you could get your boss at Prada or Moschino in Italy to call or email the boutiques in London to say that you are moving to London, looking for a job, and to keep you in mind for any positions they might have available and send a copy of your CV. Then when you arrive in London, you can go into the boutiques to speak to the manager and say that your boss in Italy had emailed them about you.

If that doesn’t work, then there are some good London agencies including Four Seasons Recruitment, 24Seven Talent and Elite Associates who recruit retail staff for luxury brands.
