Matthew 25:41- Eternal fire was prepared for the devil and his angels?

Apparently the devil isn’t the ruler of hell and it doesn’t exist yet, but will be made prepared by God (see the verses below, Hell FIRE comes down FROM HEAVEN). The devil is going to hell… so are his minions…

This would go well with those who believe that the soul (psyche) is dormant when we die and we don’t go anywhere until we’re resurrected.

Note the following verses refer to the events after the 10 years after Satan is bound with his angels on Earth in a desolate state (the lost are dead, the saved were taken to heaven). After that, the lost are resurrected again..

Revelation 20:7-10

7And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

8And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

9And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

10And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Update:

You don’t possess a soul.. that’s what devils do.. You’re not a spirit with a soul in possession, you’re a soul possessed by some spirit.. (can be a good thing or a bad thing). If an evil spirit, you will think you have an eternal soul…

  • Whether the lake of Fire exists yet is not stated in Scripture; however the beast and the false prophet are thrown live into it at the end of the age and the beginning of the Millennial Reign of Christ:

“And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone .”

    Revelation 19:20 NASB

But if you think they are just burned up, then how do you explain this verse?

“And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.”

    Revelation 20:10 NASB

As for soul sleep, that is not what Paul believed:

“For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.

But if I am to live on in the flesh, this will mean fruitful labor for me; and I do not know which to choose.

    But I am hard-pressed from both directions, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is very much better;

yet to remain on in the flesh is more necessary for your sake. “

    Philippians 2:21-24 NASB

He said dying meant to depart and be with Christ. That doesn’t sound like soul sleep.

    and again he says:

“For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

For indeed in this house we groan, longing to be clothed with our dwelling from heaven,

inasmuch as we, having put it on, will not be found naked.

For indeed while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened, because we do not want to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that what is mortal will be swallowed up by life.

Now He who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave to us the Spirit as a pledge.

Therefore, being always of good courage, and knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord–

for we walk by faith, not by sight–

we are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord.

Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him.

    II Corinthians 5:1-9 NASB

Absent from the body means to be at home with the Lord.

The only part of a believer ever referred to as being asleep is the body – because it is awaiting the resurrection from the dead. The soul/spirit are conscious and with the Lord; just as the soul of sinners is conscious and in torment in Hades, awaiting their resurrection and the Final Judgment at the Great White Throne.

  • Hell does exists, because Jesus went there ( Matthew 12:39-40 ). The fire you mentioned coming down from heaven isn’t hell fire, but God’s judgment. Read Luke 16:19-31, especially 23-24, along with Mark 9:43-48. There is no such thing as purgatory or soul sleep, that is a lie from Satan.

  • How can the lake of fire be hell when hell is cast into the lake of fire? You are not logical but are listening to doctrines of men (preachers). DEath and hell are cast into the lake of fire. Why? Death and hell are obviously not abstract concepts but PERSONS. Hell is a thing, and IT a demon, like sin and death. Soul sleep? If they are asleep why do I keep dreaming of them? Some people go to sleep at their graves and others do not. The bible simply says that those who ARE asleep shall be awakened at the day of judgement. It doesn’t say that everybody is asleep.

  • Actually hell is real, and we see its description throughout the latter chapter´s of the book of Revelation. It is the lake of fire in which they that are sent there shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever without rest; this is the second death.

  • ‘Eonian’ fire – not ‘eternal’. Lasting until the end of eons – then fire won’t hurt God’s creatures again….

We should all experience Iyehuweh’s happy destiny. Entertainment is stronger than boredom. Anything that you Love is yours. God is saying to everyone ‘Let Me entertain you!’. Religion’s meaning is to love – love’s purpose is to entertain. God will make us fully happy in all our experiences. God is happily lovingly willing to be temporarily sad. God IS good and only allows evil because He can create out of it a greater happier kind of good. Its all gonna be made infinitely much more than worthwhile…

Ultimately, overall, it’s all for the best! – each one’s sufferings bring them to their best possible future! God will eventually save all of us from sin and suffering and share His happiest experience of eternity with everyone…

We are all destined to be fully happy and equally enriched… We all evolve to perfectly love and experience Iyehuweh, the Creator and Operator of all, Whose name is Love. Eventually, all come to be fully loving so that they are fully loveable, and therefore all come to be equally loved.

The maximum possible infinitely intense equivalence of the importance of all beings throughout eternity is made possible by loving happiness infinitely cancelling out finite suffering..

The greatest appreciation for happiness is that success is the greater because of the failures, the second greatest appreciation is the experience of pure success, and the third is appreciation for the temporary failures themselves….

Without the creation of opposing wills in existence and sinful failures – we could never happily experience our failures along with our successful endeavours… Our different forms of love each combine with our sin and sufferings to transubstantiate them into the best possible happinessess which replace all the temporary sufferings of love and sin. And so the temporary existence of lost happiness and suffering are both theoretically absolutely necessary to allow and cause the fully maximised experience of thankfulness, happiness, pleasure, love and grace in eternity and the maximised forgetting of all unthankfulness, sadness and pain…

The chief meaning of all God’s creating, ordering and evolving activity is to combine His loving happinesses and sufferings with His creature’s sinful happinesses and sufferings to synthesize the best maximum possible equivalence of intensity of all existent loving happinesses. And so, the chief purpose of life, the universe and everything is that God and His creatures come to experience the maximum loving intensity of happiness forever and forever travel through the maximum diversity of equivalently important happy experiences.

The exact way that we choose to do righteousness or sin always provides us with the very best possible situation in the universe from which to learn to love more ideally. So, from the eternal viewpoint, our exact circumstances always suit us in precisely the most ideal way possible – in order to synthesise in the best possible way the maximised equivalence of all loving happiness. Our circumstances are always an ideal resolution, opportunity, challenge and channel for us.

Overall in the times of sin and suffering – we each end up sinning against our conscience, our moral consciousness to an equivalent degree. Often experiences of darkness in these times causes sin. The darkness is the intangible opacity – the empty blindnesses. Consciousness of sin is the experience of any substance with some accompanying resistance against the process of equivalating all our importances – which is the prevailing drive of God’s ideal will to make us all equivalently important in everyway.

As far as our eternal happiness is concerned we all win first prize. As regards our eternal rank – each one’s path differs in nature from everyone else’s – yet we all become equally enriched and significant.

Overall in time, God is equally merciful and fair to all of us, and we are equally lucky overall – but temporarily our luck is unequal… In each person’s entire infinite history, we will each experience the same amount of infinitely rich happiness and finitely intense suffering that God experiences in His entire infinite history. We each experience the same amount of unhappiness – whether through our compassion, sympathy, pity, forgoance and self-sacrifice, or through our being disciplined because of our unrighteousness and unforgiveness or stubbornness to trust ourselves to God. Yet, all creatures will temporarily experience a reduction in their happiness while they suffer punishments for unforgiven sins… Those who remain stubborn to God will only spend a temporary period paying for their unforgiven sin in hell.

So, in the long run we should all be infinitely optimistic, but in the short term we should retain some finite pessimism.

God reconciles all to Himself through Jesus Christ, Who make
