My car temperter gauge red high but the engine an radiator were not hot?

  • temp sensor is bad…. there may be 2 on your car though, some cars have one for the computer to tell it when to turn the electric fans on, and a second one that tells your gauge what to read. usually when that’s the case, the one that talks to the computer is what vatozone will sell you NOT the one for the gauge.

    i’m having this issue with an engine swap i’m doing, and they aren’t experts, they just know how to look stuff up on their little computer. when it comes to problem solving skills and creativity to fix issues, it’s over their pay grade. hate to say it, but………. that’s the truth

  • You need a new temperature sensor. Autozone.com for about 20 bucks.

  • There is NO way to tell without providing the vehicle information, (Year, Make, Model) and the engine option if possible

    NOTE: There are too many different cooling system configurations and a few different things that will cause your symptoms, Unless you want a “Shot in the dark” guess (like you already have)
