My cat is having kittens and I don’t know what to do?

We have 2 cats from the same litter, when we got them we were told she had been done but apparently not. I’m 1% sure that she is having kittens (she is eating more, her gained a huge stomach, she is more cuddly and her nipples are swollen)

My question is when she gives birth do I have to be here to help? I don’t know how far along she is, I’m guessing 5 weeks or so already? I work full time and would hate to come home and find they had a problem so I just need advice on what todo please will they be ok on there own or…?

Give her a soft place for her and the kittens like a cardbord box with a blanket in it. She will probly hvae her litter in about 5 weeks or less.

My cat gave birth on our living room sofa, my mum just closed the door and let her be, checking in on her every so often to make sure she was okay. If sonething did go wrong or if she was having difficultly we would of had to ring the vet anyway. Most cats can manage themselves but it would be best if you where thers just encase. Most cats ( unlike mine) will go away to give birth, sometimes they’d stay with their kittens untill they feel it is safe to show them to you. 2 of my cata kittens lived and 2 died im not really sure why, she could have accidentally suffocated it since it was he first (and only) litter. But one of them died a couple of days after the birth so I’m not sure. Good luck hope this helps! If you want an idea of when she might give birth take her to the vet they should be able to give you a rough idea. 🙂

If u cannot be there it’s fine. But if u can be there perfect. Pull when u see an extra part sticking out. When they are out DO NOT SEPERATE THEM! leave the mommy and the babies together. When u think she is finished with birth , get a Luke warm rag and wipe them down and clean them off.
If u are there when mommy is giving birth , it will be less painful.
Put them in a warm climate because they will be cold
    Or
Have a headlamp or a heater fan. Dose that help?

We’ve had several cats give birth. Generally, they don’t need any help and will do just fine on their own. In the last few weeks you need to give her a safe space where she can have them. We usually take a clothes basket and put a blanket in it and show her where it’s at every day. Make sure you keep her inside in the last few days so she won’t have them outside where other animals could get to her/them. Everything should go smoothly without any help!

    Nope, just let her be.

She will do it all on her own and clean up the kittens herself.

She should be fine on her own, unless some freak accident happens and I doubt you could help in that case anyways. Sometimes kittens don’t make it, it’s very normal especially if she has more than 4 kittens.

Don’t help. All you need to do is make sure she has a safe box or bed for her to have her kittens in. Mom will do her job. You won’t have to worry until you have to start feeding the babies solid food. Do some more research on kittens, and when they are completely weaned off of Mom’s milk, you can sell them.

Cats generally don’t want help giving birth, she will go some where to do it herself. Like under the sofa, or in a dark corner away from everyone.

Leave her to it, it’s just they way that they do things 🙂
