Opinionated questions about homosexuality?

Why do gays ask others for their opinions on yahoo about homosexuality regarding current laws, the future, marriage (all todays normal stuff), and then chastise those who are honest about their opinions? Those answers should be the best answers, chosen for their research, honest & depth into the answer. Instead, the asker usually will pick something with an answer like “because they’re stupid”.

I suppose this is a psychology question, but only pertains to this category.

Update:

Hah, I just researched trolling…..makes alot of sense now, but what a waste of time I just don’t see the point.

  • It doesn’t just pertain to this question, sunshine. Right-wingiedingies ask all kinds of offensive questions in Politics and R&S, and “chastise” those who disagree.

based on superstition, ignorance, and bigotry do not deserve to be lauded. There is no “research” to validate opposition to same-sex marriage or civil unions. There has been no negative effect on any of the married heterosexual couples — in fact, that issue was recently thrown out in the Prop H8 trial because the proponents of prop h8 could NOT validate their claim that they were in any way injured by gay and lesbian citizens being granted equal rights.

Nobody says anyone here has to agree with anyone else.

If you’re homophobic… I have to wonder why you hang out in this section? I despise auto racing and wouldn’t waste one precious moment of my time on the nascar questions.

If you’re talking about the homophobic trolls — they reject any answers that don’t reflect back what they want to believe, and I doubt if they even read the research. I mean, you can get a college degree from a bible-studies university that teaches creationism and calls it science.

  • Have you not noticed that 95% of the questions here are opinionated?

“Why do gays ask others for their opinions on yahoo about homosexuality regarding current laws, the future, marriage (all todays normal stuff), and then chastise those who are honest about their opinions?”

    – cause those people are typically trolling. You clearly haven’t read much of their questions. There have been some people who were nice and honest about disapproving of homosexuality, but that’s a good 2% of the answers >.>

    Have an okay day.

  • Well, it depends on the person?

I don’t care if you’ve researched a topic for your entire life, if your answer is you agree with denying somebody’s rights, or that you think somebody’s sexuality is ruining the world, or it’s not normal etc, then I will not choose it as the best answer.

But if the answer is rational, and not denying anybody rights or calling anyone unnatural, or discriminating, then I would choose that as the best answer.

That’s just me, other peolpe might disagree, they may choose the most wittiest for the best answer, or the most funny, or the most helpful etc.

  • because most questions asked about laws and rights on homosexuality are to be taken serious. and are not really asking for opinions.

but there are many gays who are very defensive when someone share there opinion. usually because of all the discrimination towards us and and how much bullying is done. i’m pretty laid back though.

maybe cause i have a pretty high self esteem

  • Homophobic opinions are never based in realistic research and they are often riddled with lies and slanderous comments. How can you not chastise insulting propaganda?

  • They probably just need to hear some unbiased answers. And there isn’t any research in homosexuality. Those people are who they are.

  • I know exactly what you mean!!!!!!!! They ask for opinions they criticize any one who disagrees with them any one who gives a deep honest opinion! I’m so sick of that crap
