PLEASE HELP – In the past 3/4 months somebody has managed to get hold of my Debit card details?

…and has proceeded to take several phone contracts out in my name. Now I originally had no money in my bank and bills have been coming through my door thick and fast, alongside letters from my bank (HSBC) asking when I’m going to pay back my overdraft…(Which I have ‘gained’ so-to-speak, because of Mr. Fraud)

Now I have phoned all the Phone companies (I think there was a contract from: Orange, 02 and T-Mobile) and managed to cancel all of these contracts. T-mobile also said they understood my situation and my bad credit rating will be cleaned.

Now I’m 18 and have recently started a new job/apprenteship and as I will soon have a constant wage coming into my bank I opted to go take out a phone on contract myself. But all 3 phone companies i visited (Orange, Tmobile and Vodafone) have all rejected me due to a bad credit rating.

Is there anyway I could ammend this as I’d really like to get this phone I’ve been wanting for a while and I’m only a young man who doesn’t want to gain a bad credit rating AT ALL let alone this early in my life :/

All help I am very much thankful for.

Kindest regards.

  • This has happened to me several times. I was refused an apartment when I turned 18 because I had evictions when I was 15 and 15 year olds can’t sign contracts. What you need to do each time this happens is contact the police and get a police report. Then you have to send a copy of the police report each of the agencies that are sending you bills. Then they will clear every negative report off your credit and stop trying to collect from you. You could decide to pay for a credit monitoring service, but it is cheaper just to file the report and mail it off. You can do it all over the phone and through the mail with no damage to your credit at all.

  • did you ever fiile a police report then you have to file a fraud report

with the credit agencies apparenlty you didnt do that

    thats what you should done

the credit report agencies need the police report number or copy of same
