Sea turtle conservation/wildlife/environm… type international travel volunteer programs in Latin America?

I am looking for reviews, comparisons, and comments anyone who has volunteered with IVHQ or Frontier volunteer groups in Costa Rica, Ecuador, or the Galapagos doing environmental/conservation/animal type volunteer work. I want to maybe work with a sea turtles program, animal research or something like that in the jungle or on the beach. I just don’t want to get ripped off by some type of horrible experience by choosing a shady type outfit. I want to spend a couple months there doing 2 or 3 different programs,. So I am looking for something more affordable, but with volunteer housing of some sort, without staying with a host family or sleeping in a tent. I also ran across a really CHEAP organization called Foundation ECO-Volunteer UP, which had really cool programs, but can’t find any reviews from anyone on it. I have no idea if it is reputable or not. It was sooooooooo much cheaper than anything else I have found, but I honestly have no idea how safe or legit that company is. I want to ensure I use the best organization for the experience, without feeling like I made a terrible mistake because of lack of support when I get there. I would appreciate any help, and input from anyone who has done any of these programs, and can offer advice.
