Should you be able to move a front sway bar by hand?

I’ve been noticing a “clunking” noise coming from the front of my car when I turn the wheel and go at very slow speeds. So I jacked the front of my car and removed the wheel and I was able to move the sway bar where it meets the end link and I can hear the clunk, I’ve added a YouTube video that I took today to show you what I mean.

Basically, should I be able to move the front sway bar with that amount of play?

  • sway bars normally have Rubber grommets around the bar on either end attached by some sort of
    ( U) shaped fittings which are bolted to the A frame. I sounds like you have a grommet slipped out or completely missing from that side of the car. Check the other side for reference
