Was i being disrespectful when i said this?

Today i was commenting on what my teacher said since she is going to have a baby and all. She said well, i don’t want my kid to end up like…And i finshed the rest of it saying like us? and this girl said what did you say like us? The baby will end up like you. i tried to explain but, the girl wouldn’t let me. I tried to be nice to that same girl but she was mean to me i also didn’t mean anything disrespectful and i appoligized to teacher she said don’t worry about it. Was i wrong or was they?

Yeah, it might have been a little disrespectful. The girl did overreact. Next time just don’t try to finish someones sentence if it will connote negativity.

What you said was a disrespectful, but that girl over reacted. She wouldn’t let you explain and was mean to you so she was behaving very immaturely which is also disrespectful.

You apologized to the teacher, all is cool with her, so forget about it. It wasn’t so bad to begin with. Nothing wrong with some lighthearted humor. Some people have no sense of humor.
