what actions can be taken if someone is being payed less than they are supposed to get payed in a position?

My boyfriend has been working for a company as a crew chief for a few months now. He does all the hard work while his assistant only does that; assist. But it turns out he is being payed as an assistant and even his pay check stubs says he is an assistant. I wanted to know what actions can be taken as to why he is working as crew chief and only gets an assistant salary.

Thank you in advance for the responses!

  • Seems like he told you he was a crew chief, but he’s been an assistant all along. If he wasn’t getting paid the right amount and his classification was wrong he would have addressed that with the employer months ago.

He has to ask at work, we don’t know what’s going on between him and his employer, and you don’t really know either.

  • he can ask his employer, and if his employer told him when he got the job that hes the crew chief but only get paid assistant wage, then he can go to a lawyer and force the company to pay the difference to what he lost. but he needs evidence to back him up or its a waste of time.

    hope it helps

    thanks
