  • As a parent of children who were recently toddlers, I found that “Blue’s Clues” really engaged their attention and encouraged interaction with the characters, which strengthened their language skills. “Dora the Explorer” is also good in this respect, plus they get a exposure to the Spanish language too.

    I would look for shows that encourage the child to actively participate in the action, instead of passively watching. That kind of stimulation promotes better learning.
