Marxism, which condemns capitalists for destroying the proletariat class, led ecomarxists to believe capitalists are to blame for every ecological problem we face today.
My understanding is that capitalism is blind; it simply follows the money and doesn’t care the planet is damaged in the process. Ecomarxism is a reaction to this; It questions if all money making activities, like the tourist industry or tar sand oil extraction are really good for mankind and the planet even if they are good for the rich’s wallets.
