What exactly is the Kenmoore 20022 sensing for?

I had this machine for quite some time. I like it, it gets the clothes clean. However when I select my cycle, load size and water temp. I press start and does a series of spinning. The manual says that it is load sensing, it can’t be sensing for load size because I have to set that manually. Also it does a lot of unnecessary stopping why does it do this?

it analyzes the composition of each and every article of clothing. It then looks for any alien substances on these articles of clothing. Using a mixture of agitation and laser bursts it removes the stains, smells and substances from the clothing. Originally Kenmoore designed it to rove and analyze the surface of mars, but it was way too sophisticated and NASA rejected it, so they marketed it as a washing machine.

I’m assuming you have ghosts that worked on washing machines in a previous life.
