What happens if you fail 8th grade state test.. will it effect high school?

Ok so I took the njask test last week… I had family situtation last week and I couldn’t concentrate during the test iwas scred if i failed language arts , math and science. After I was done with the test I couldn’t relax I was frustrated. And im worried i cant pass high school 9th grade like representatives meaning like art,or music being taken away and create an extra class of science or L.A . (2 language arts class a day)

  • You should be ok. I fail many state test back in my days, but I still was able to pull out a 4.2 in high school and is in a university now. State testing is useless to be honest. Well I live in Cali so each state might have a different standard. I don’t think they are going to make you take extra class of science or math. I have seen some case for English, but that is only for new immigrants students.
  • To the other guy, different states call it different names. I’m guessing he lives in California if he means the STAR. I lived in Georgia and it was called the CRCT.

    But I guess it all depends on where you live and your school. It could affect what classes you’ll get, but then again, it might not. My school just uses the scores to get money from the state and get higher rankings in our county.
