What is polyisobutene and why is it dumped at sea?

  • Polyisobutene is used in many versatile applications. And is an essential raw material in the manufacture of fuel additives and lubricant additives. The applications range from adhesives, sealants through to chewing gum base.
    Its dumped at sea because it is not illegal to dump this at sea and it is expensive to dispose of properly.
