What kind of insect is this?

Found it on my wall. It’s about inch long. It seemed very powdery and crumbled when I picked it up.

  • hard to say from the picture but looks like one of the bristletails…there are a couple of silverfish that are brownish in color and firebrats are usually brownish

  • Looks like the remains of a VERY mangled house centipede, which usually has a zillion legs. It probably was on your wall for quite awhile or another insect ate part of it. Compare the shape of its’ head and what’s left of its’ long leg(s).

    * Picture greatly enlarged for detail.

  • It’s an Earwig. Google that to check me out.
