What’s the best way to separate corrugated carton boxes?

I have a supply of corrugated carton boxes which I intend to use to make other things. But I have to take them apart first. What I need to know is does anyone know if there is a way to separate the glued parts cleanly or neatly with as little or no damage to the box as possible? Its ok if some glue is still on the surface, as long as the cardboard material isn’t torn, still strong and the corrugated part unexposed.

  • Not certain if you are at all familiar with a paint/putty/spackle knife but one with a wide blade would be my choice. Yes there will be transferred residue probably, there might be some minimal damage, but the context of the issue seems to be saving as much of the box as you can. I’d go the way I suggested.
